THE STORY
| The story of shiner22 actually dates as far back as 1989, when singer - then bassist/bgsinger of Danish heavy rock band Harlot, Fjeder, formed a song-writing team with keyboarder Morten Ramsing. It soon became evident that the songs the duo crafted wasn´t exactly Harlot material.
| Even though they had a pretty clear view of the direction they wanted to take, they felt they needed a third party to complete the picture - so to speak. They teamed up with guitarist - and well known Danish radio host - Kim Heibon, renowned for being somewhat of a Beatle-freak. He instantly left the mark on the musical direction they were looking for.
| As a veteran of the Scandinavian hard rock scene, touring and recording with various bands for almost a decade, Fjeder had a long standing desire to take his song-writing in a different direction - away from the formalized and restricted sound of the 80´s - something he seemed to achieve by teaming up with these people.

| The trio continued writing material over the following Years, slowly but steadily building a solid platform for forming a fully fledged touring band. In 1993 they finally decided to draft a rhythm section. Johnnie McCoy (drums) and Bjarne Olsen (bass) completed the line-up and shiner was born.
| Taking the band on the road seemed to be the right move increasingly attracting larger crowds and getting better and better reviews. Still they didn´t seem able to attract any real interest from the Danish record labels, something which is of course frustrating for all bands. In addition to that, the founder members were beginning to show a certain degree of fatigue, letting different personal problems affect their contribution to the band.
| In stead of desperately clinging on to something which obviously wasn´t the winning formula, Fjeder had a good long think about the future and decided to disband leaving room for reorganising at a later stage.

After a couple years touring and recording with various bands and artists, the urge of doing his own thing became too strong to ignore - the time was right for the relaunching of shiner, but this time as a duo with a guitarist Fjeder had actually met just before disbanding. Thomas Christensen - a young guitarist, raised on the unlikely diet of early Blur and Aerosmith, being adequately off to become the perfect "sidekick" for the now renamed shiner22, intended as a studio thing first and foremost this time around.
